Königssee boat trip
Lake Königssee exudes a fascination that has made it famous and popular far beyond the borders of Bavaria. Nestled deep between steep rock faces, the Königssee lies at the foot of the imposing Watzmann east face and is the centrepiece of the Berchtesgaden National Park. Guests glide over to the pilgrimage church of St Bartholomä in a quiet electric boat. With its striking onion domes, it is located in one of the most beautiful places in Bavaria. It is worth travelling to the Salet terminus. A short walk takes you to the Obersee: the view sweeps across the beautifully situated lake to the Fischunkelalm and the Röthbach waterfall. Germany's highest waterfall plunges over 450 metres at the head of the valley. Electric boats have been used on the Königssee since 1909 and are built in the in-house boatyard right on the lakeshore.
