Ettal Monastery with its baroque basilica is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park. The monastery complex, which is home to 30 Benedictine monks, consists of more than just the famous monastery church. In addition to a school, the monastery hotel "Ludwig der Bayer", the monastery brewery, the liquor factory and agriculture and forestry are also part of the activities of the Ettal monastic community. Guided tours of the basilica, liqueur factory and brewery provide a very special insight into everyday monastic life and can be rounded off with a meal in the monastery hotel restaurant.
