Calvary Bad Tölz
The ascent to Calvary leads past the Mount of Olives with the sleeping disciples and Christ with the consoling angel by the Tölz sculptor Anton Fröhlich. In 1926, 5 chapels with the 14 Stations of the Cross were built along the ascent. At the upper end, the hill with the 19th century copper crucifixion group rises above the dungeon chapel. On the summit stands the Church of the Holy Cross, which unusually consists of three parts. The royal salt official in Tölz, Friedrich Nockher himself, commissioned the Calvary with the Mount of Olives, the Stations of the Cross and the Church of the Holy Cross in 1720.
