AlpenStadtMuseum Sonthofen
The new AlpenStadtMuseum in Sonthof's cultural quarter is another cultural highlight in the Alpine town. The core of the historic farmhouse, which is one of the oldest houses in Sonthofen, has been preserved.
Inside the museum, visitors embark on a journey of discovery: they settle down with the first settlers in the area around Sonthofen, immerse themselves in the life of a farming family at the end of the 19th century. They also explore the history of the town of Sonthofen and accompany an alpine farmer through his everyday life on a mountain pasture. On their tour, they will encounter nagging spa guests, prudent power brokers and daring photo pioneers. Numerous interactive and media stations are waiting to be used.
Touch stations, a faithful model of an alpine meadow, the restored Altmummen cot and a special children's trail are further highlights of the museum.
