Roßfeldpanoramastraße
The highest panoramic road in Germany. It can be easily reached from Berchtesgaden via the Obersalzberg or from Unterau via Oberau by car or public bus. There are large car parks at the top of the road. From there, visitors can enjoy a marvellous panoramic view of the mighty Hohe Göll massif, the Kehlstein, the Tennenstein and Dachstein mountains, the Untersberg and the Berchtesgaden and Salzburger Land regions. The Roßfeldpanoramastraße is an ideal starting point for a variety of hikes with different levels of difficulty.
Two beautifully situated mountain inns and a kiosk invite you to take a break. In winter, the Roßfeld offers the most snow-sure family ski area in the Berchtesgadener Land with various lifts and a downhill run of around six kilometres to Oberau.
The Roßfeld panoramic road rewards visitors with unforgettable views to the east of the Salzach Valley with Salzburg, the Salzburg Alps, the Dachstein and the Totes Gebirge mountains to the south-east of the Tennengebirge and Hagengebirge mountains to the south of the Hoher Göll (2. 522 m) and the Kehlstein (1,837 m) with the Kehlsteinhaus in the south-west and west to the Berchtesgaden Alps with the Watzmann (2,713 m), Hochkalter (2,607 m) and Reiteralpe as well as Berchtesgaden in the north-west and north to the Lattengebirge and the Untersberg (1,973 m).
