Museum Salt & Moor - Klaushäusl
The museum was built in the former "Klaushäusl" brine pumping station, on the 107 km long brine pipeline between Berchtesgaden and Rosenheim, which went into operation in 1810 and was decommissioned in 1958. The Klaushäusl brine pumping station is the only one to have been completely preserved after the brine pipeline was decommissioned and is therefore a unique industrial monument that bears witness to the ingenious engineering skills of the 19th century. The "Salt" section of the brine pumping station was opened in 1995. In 2004, the "Moor" section was added in the well keeper's house.
