Museum of the city of Füssen
The highlight of the entire complex and the museum is the richly stuccoed and frescoed banqueting hall, the so-called "Kaisersaal". It symbolised the abbey's political ambition to achieve imperial immediacy and become an imperial abbey. Today, the traditional "Kaisersaal Concerts" take place in the hall. It is also a popular venue for romantic weddings. The monastery library, which houses the museum, is also unusual. The room is oval and an opening in the centre provides a view down into the refectory, the monks' dining room.
