In honour of Saint Leonhard of Limoges, the patron saint of all livestock, the Tölz Leonhardi Ride is held every year. Every year on 6 November (unless 6 November falls on a Sunday) - Leonhard's name day - magnificently decorated table and chest wagons with four-in-hand carriages gather in the early hours of the morning in Tölz's Bäderviertel district. From there, the pilgrimage sets off up to the Calvary, accompanied by loud church bells. At the summit, the horses and pilgrims are blessed before the service.
